Semiotics of Girlhood is a collection celebrating girlhood, while challenging traditional notions of femininity. Sofia Hermens Fernandez, class of 2024, graduated from the renowned Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp with a master's degree in Fashion Design. She has been named a Designer of the Future by Service95 and has been praised by countless other media outlets for her vision.
The filter takes inspiration from key elements of the collection, such as braids and bows. The filter was released on Instagram a few days prior to the runway show to promote Sofia's collection and serve as a visual appetizer. It also allowed for interaction with international audiences.
